As a champion for children since 2017, Paddington helped raise more than 7 million USD towards UNICEF’s work for children around the world. Paddington supported the child rights organisation by fronting educational fundraising products, such as Paddington’s Postcards, Advent Calendars and Paddington’s Parcels.
Following its success, Paddington’s Postcards is now available in four languages (English, German, Italian and Norwegian) and available in more than seven territories around the world. These countries include the UK, Ireland, Australia, New Zealand, Italy, Germany and Norway, with further announcements expected in 2023.
With Paddington’s Postcards, families embark on a horizon-broadening adventure helping their little explorers learn from other children across the world, while supporting UNICEF’s work. For just £8 a month, children receive a personalised postcard from Paddington himself, as well as exciting gift packs to discover how their peers and animals live in other countries.
Other products, such as Paddington’s Parcels and Advent Calendars help UNICEF spread the Christmas cheer to children all over the world. Each advent calendar enables UNICEF to provide 24 life-changing gifts, such as blankets, school supplies and vaccines for children around the world. Paddington’s Parcels is a beautiful way to spread the power of kindness by putting together a virtual box of supplies, which is followed by a special thank you from Paddington. Every year, the bear also helps empower children and young people to realise their rights and speak out in support of the rights of all children with UNICEF UK’s Outright campaign.
Paddington’s core values of kindness, tolerance and curiosity make him the perfect champion for UNICEF’s vital work to build a world in which every child can be happy, healthy and safe. The beloved bear brings a smile to children and their families’ faces, and inspires them to give back with the help of unique educational products.
Jon Sparkes, Chief Executive of The UK Committee for UNICEF (UNICEF UK) says: “UNICEF teams work around the clock to build a better world for every child, every day, everywhere. We work with families, local communities, organisations and governments in more than 190 countries to help every child realise their full potential. We couldn’t do this without the generous contributions of our supporters. That’s why we are very grateful for Paddington’s ongoing support to our work, and endless efforts to inspire, empower and educate thousands of other children.”
Sophie Kopaczynski, CEO of The Copyrights Group says: ‘We are so proud to see the great impact Paddington’s collaboration with UNICEF has had since the beginning of the partnership in 2017. With Paddington’s Postcards, we were able to create a meaningful product that speaks to children and families around the world, allowing us to support UNICEF and spread Paddington’s superpower: the power of kindness.’
