OUTSTANDING PRESCHOOL ANIMATED SERIES

OUTSTANDING WRITING TEAM FOR A PRESCHOOL ANIMATED PROGRAM
Paris, London – Wednesday July 21 – STUDIOCANAL today confirm that the hit CG-animated series, THE ADVENTURES OF PADDINGTON has won two Daytime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Preschool Animated Series and Outstanding Writing Team for a Preschool Animated Program at the weekend’s ceremony hosted on Saturday July 17.
The news follows global success for the first two series, with an international roll-out overseen by Nickelodeon who broadcast the beloved animated series in the US and internationally. STUDIOCANAL oversees international distribution outside Nickelodeon rights. THE ADVENTURES OF PADDINGTON was previously awarded Best TV/Media – Preschool at the Annie Awards earlier this year, as well as Best Children’s Preschool at the British Animation Awards in 2020. Series 3 is currently in development.
THE ADVENTURES OF PADDINGTON centres on a younger Paddington as he writes letters to Aunt Lucy celebrating the new things he has discovered through the day’s adventures in London. Actor Ben Whishaw (Paddington 1 & 2) voices the role of the title character, alongside cast members Morwenna Banks, Bobby Beynon, Sheena Bhattessa, Darren Boyd, Cam’ron Joseph, Guz Khan, Phyllis Logan, Monica Lopera, Divi Mittal, David Schofield, Reece Shearsmith, Maya Sondhi, Samara Sutariya, Liz Sutherland-Lim, Angeli Wall, Jeremiah Waysome and Sabrina Newton-Fisher.
Head Writers on the show and named winners for Outstanding Writing Team for a Preschool Animated Program, James Lamont and Jon Foster commented: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive these awards and so proud of our amazing team. It was a privilege to be asked to ‘please look after this bear’ and that is exactly what we try to do with every episode we write.”

THE ADVENTURES OF PADDINGTON is a Heyday Films and STUDIOCANAL production in association with Copyrights. The series is directed by Blue Zoo Animation Studio’s (Go Jetters, Digby Dragon, Miffy, Q Pootle 5) Adam Shaw and Chris Drew. THE ADVENTURES OF PADDINGTON is developed for television and written by Jon Foster and James Lamont (The Amazing World of Gumball, Cuckoo, Paddington 1 & 2), who also serve as executive producers.
The series is executive produced by multi-award-winning David Heyman (producer of all eight of the Harry Potter films, Paddington 1 & 2) and Rosie Alison (Boy in the Striped Pyjamas, Paddington 1 & 2). THE ADVENTURES OF PADDINGTON is produced by Karen Davidsen (formerly with Disney and HIT Entertainment) and Simon Quinn (Isle of Dogs, Fantastic Mr. Fox), and co-executive produced by Rob Silva.
